To commemorate the 80th anniversary of VE Day, our offices in Dorking, Leatherhead, Bookham, and Ashtead have unveiled a series of striking window murals. These wonderful displays pay tribute to the end of the Second World War and honour the millions who sacrificed so much for the freedom we enjoy today.
On display now and throughout 8–10 May, the murals feature evocative wartime symbols such as Spitfires, poppies, soldiers, stars, Winston Churchill, bunting, and a reference to VE Day 80. Each design has been thoughtfully created to reflect the resilience, remembrance, and sense of celebration that marked 1945.
Bruce Shaw, Senior Partner at Patrick Gardner, said:
“We wanted to be part of something meaningful and memorable that brings our local communities together and supports VE Day events across Surrey. The displays offer passersby a chance to pause, reflect, and hopefully leave with a smile. And if you’d like to pop in for a chat—we’d love to see you!”
Whether you’re a history enthusiast or simply passing by, the murals offer a heartfelt tribute and a vibrant visual way to mark this significant milestone.
